NASHVILLE, TENN. – Fast rising singer/songwriter Griffen Palmer will make his national TV debut with a performance of entrancing ballad “Second Guessing” on ABC’s “The Bachelor” next Monday night, February 6 at 8/7c on ABC and available to stream next-day on Hulu. The episode will feature a Palmer-style serenade of the “noticeably smoother and slicker…lovestruck ballad” (Holler) during a special one-on-one date for newly minted Bachelor, Zach Shallcross.
“It’s surreal to get to perform on national TV for the first time,” shares Palmer. “Especially on a show as massive and influential as ‘The Bachelor.’ This year has already been full a lot of firsts for me, but this is one I will never forget.”
The emotive track, co-written by Palmer with collaborators Corey Crowder, Ester Dean, Andrew DeRoberts, Tyler Hubbard, Brian Kelley, Shane McAnally, Ben Simonetti, Ryan Tedder, and Geoff Warburton, echoes Shallcross’ desire to meet “the one,” opening the door for the type of love Palmer describes in his professing lyrics: undisputable, devoted, and transformational.
The latest addition to the Big Loud Records roster has seen a rapid projection since his launch earlier this month. Named a “Highway Find” by SiriusXM The Highway before his debut track was even released, Palmer will deliver more of his pop-infused country gems with his debut album due in 2023. Palmer hits the road this spring, joining labelmate Lily Rose’s headline tour kicking off Feb. 9 in Allston, Mass.
“The Bachelor” airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC. Episodes can be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
ABOUT GRIFFEN PALMER
On the rise singer/songwriter Griffen Palmer is more than meets the eye. Having grown up musically, his father – a musician and artist – instilled an appreciation for lyricism in him early on that soon turned into a love for the craft of songwriting. Nurturing a strong pen and sturdy performance chops through four-hour cover sets in dusty college bars at Ohio’s Bowling Green State University, the D1 rugby player’s house party introduction to GRAMMY-nominated hitmaker Geoff Warburton (Shawn Mendes, Machine Gun Kelly, Jake Owen) was the tip of the scale that brought him to Music City. After winning NBC’s Songland in May of 2020, the in-demand wordsmith earned cuts with global superstars Florida Georgia Line (“Second Guessing”) and Keith Urban (“Polaroid”) as well as The Band Camino, Chelsea Cutler, MacKenzie Porter, Jade Eagleson and more. Hot off the release of his solo version of “Second Guessing,” the newly named SiriusXM The Highway’s “Highway Find” will hit the road with labelmate Lily Rose on her 2023 headline tour this spring. The 27-year-old’s midwestern drive and versatile style will be on full display on his debut album due later this year.
