The 100th anniversary of the Tucson Rodeo kicked off today with celebratory fireworks in front of a sold-out crowd.

Bareback Rider, Cole Hollen of Liberty Hill, TX rodeo Beutler & Sons’s Hell of A Night Bronc for the highest score of 77 points for the day and currently number 1 in the current standings.

Steer Wrestler Matt Jodie of Churchrock, NM conquered the best time of the day with a 5.7 in Steer Wrestling.

Team Ropers Ben Folsom of Jackson, MT and Chance Moldenhauer of American Falls, ID had the best time in team roping for day one of the Tucson Rodeo with a 6.3 time.

Continuing for its 100th anniversary, La Fiesta de los Vaqueros – Tucson is staged by the nonprofit Tucson Rodeo Committee, Inc. A portion of the rodeo proceeds benefit community groups including Lion’s Clubs, 4-H Clubs and Rotary Clubs.
