LOVE FROM MUSIC CITY & THE FIRE PLACE FELLOWSHIP WELCOMED OVER 200 FOSTER CHILDREN FROM SUMNER COUNTY AT THEIR 13TH ANNUAL ‘A MUSIC CITY CHRISTMAS’ PARTY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Love From Music City hosted their 13th Annual event, “A Music City Christmas,” welcoming over 200 Sumner County foster children. Love From Music City is the exclusive Christmas provider for all Foster children in Sumner County. The party takes on a new theme each year, with this year’s theme being “A Music City Christmas.” The event included live entertainment from country music artists Makenzie Phipps and The Voice Winner Jake Hoot. This year’s celebration transformed the host church, The Fire Place Fellowship transformed their new 8-acre campus into a magical winter wonderland filled with carnival-like activities, including face painting, sleigh-hay rides, an ice castle jump house, and miniature ponies dressed as reindeer. There were also booths offering cotton candy, popcorn, and treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes, featuring “Frosting the Snowman” for a sweet interactive experience.
Thanks to the generous donations from citizens to local businesses including Sam’s Place, Sam’s Sports Grill, Patriot Angels, John The Printer, Pony Mailbox Express, Hendersonville Christian Academy, BlownAway Salon Suites, Hendersonville Martial Arts, and Safaris who have allowed Love From Music City to set up toy collection boxes inside their locations. At the ‘toy store’ each child, ages 0-18, was able to choose five items. In addition, they each received eleven essential items such as a new pillow, pillowcase, blanket, gloves, a coat, shoes, backpack, socks, toiletries, and a stuffed animal.
“We could not do this event each year without the support of the community and local businesses who graciously help in every way,” says Shanda Tripp, co-pastor of The Fire Place Fellowship and founder of Love From Music City. “All of the gifts are brand new it’s such a wonderful feeling to see these children have the evening they deserved!”
With nearly 9,500 children in Tennessee’s foster care system and fewer than 8,000 homes available, events like this highlight the importance of community support.
