NASHVILLE, TN (October 11, 2024)—River House Artists’ Southern Rock-inspired singer-songwriter Reid Haughton has released his latest track, “Don’t Know Any Different,” now available everywhere. The tune is a heartfelt tribute to the values passed down through generations and highlights the importance of respect and love. Initially released this past spring on YouTube, “Don’t Know Any Different” was intended as a gift to Haughton’s wife before their wedding and has become a crowd-pleaser while on tour. Written by Haughton, Adam Wood, and Adam Sanders, the song is a genuine country anthem about being true to the lessons learned from deep roots and family.
So if I open up your door and say yes ma’am I can’t take much credit for the man I am That’s just the way the ones that raised me did it So I don’t know any different
“I wrote the song in 2020 on my grandpa’s porch, reminiscing on how I was raised and things I picked up on from my family growing up. The song became a promise to love and care for my people the same way I’ve seen my parents and grandparents do,” shares Haughton. “I initially recorded the song as a wedding gift to my wife and released it on YouTube for fans before our wedding in April. It has become a fan-favorite, and I believe that’s because of the straightforward message of the song.”
This release follows Haughton’s debut album, Higher Than Nine, which was released in May of this year. Built on a punchy, edgy mix of Southern rock, country, blues, and soul, the album featured nine tracks produced by Sadler Vaden. The songs have a down-home feel, pulling Haughton’s soulful twang front and center. Exuding swampy country rock energy, this project exemplifies the sound synonymous with Haughton’s name. Haughton has toured with Whiskey Myers, 49 Winchester, and Southall this year and headlined an Americanafest showcase at Nashville’s legendary Exit/In, included in Rolling Stone’s Must See acts of 2024. Don’t miss the chance to catch him on tour with Drake White and Them Dirty Roses this fall.
Occupying the creative crossroads where country, rock, and soul collide, River House Artists’ Reid Haughton is a pure frontman raised on the stage and steeped in rock ‘n’ roll, and a Nashville singer-songwriter working to put gritty live-show magic back where it belongs. A native of Haleyville, Alabama, (just south of Muscle Shoals), Haughton’s guitar-slinging approach was inspired early on by swaggering, soulful acts like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Wilson Pickett, The Rolling Stones, Hank Williams Jr., and Jimi Hendrix. Cutting his teeth in the bar scene of Auburn University, he developed a reputation as a fiery frontman and built a grassroots following all over the South, releasing a series of independently successful heartland anthems like “Make You Mine,” “Ain’t Close to Anywhere,” “Gettin’ Over Her” and “Got the Girl.” After moving to Nashville in 2020, Haughton embarked on a new, edgier chapter with his self-titled EP debut, produced by Sadler Vaden (Grammy-winning guitarist for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, producer to Morgan Wade, and more). Mixing the momentum of rock, the heart behind Southern soul, and the songwriting tradition of country, tracks like “Day You Don’t” and “Cuttin’ Me Loose” take the electrifying energy of the stage and crank it up to 11, while others like “She Is” capture the tender glow of true love and “Can’t Please ‘Em All” serves as a true-to-yourself anthem. Releasing his first full-length project in May of this year titled Higher Than 9, Haughton will tour on dates with Whiskey Myers and 49 Winchester through this spring and will be playing the Hard Rock Stage at this year’s CMA Fest.
