DULUTH, Ga. – The 2022 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams Champion Nashville Stampede’s title-contending form was on full display this past weekend in Duluth, Georgia, as they delivered a perfect 2-0 record in game play at the neutral site Camping World Team Series event to rise to No. 3 in the league.
The Nashville Stampede began their outing in Georgia with a bang, delivering the first walk-off win of the 2024 season as closer Silvano Alves propelled the team past the Kansas City Outlaws with a crucial bottom-of-the-fifth ride.
After a slow start to the game, Nashville jumped to a two-score lead via 8-second efforts from Alan de Souza and Kaiden Loud. But Kansas City converted when it mattered most as closer Cassio Dias and re-ride contender Brennon Eldred delivered much-needed scores at game’s end to put the Outlaws ahead by 7.5 points with just one Nashville out remaining.
The game then came down to Stampede closer Alves on Woody. No stranger to high-pressure moments, the veteran delivered for his team. Registering the high-marked ride of the game, an 89.25-point score, Alves propelled his team to an 81.75-point, come-from-behind 257.5-175.75 win to deal Kansas City its first loss of the season.
The evening then concluded with the Shoot Out Round, featuring one rider from each of the night’s winning teams. As the lone rider to make the 8, Nashville’s Souza won compliments of an 88.5-point ride on Mike’s Motive.
Following a mid-event bye, the Stampede returned to Gas South Arena on Sunday afternoon refreshed as they readied to take on the reigning PBR Teams Champion Texas Rattlers. The game marked the first time the squads went head-to-head with both being PBR Teams World Champions.
Nashville cruised to a three ride score victory, as the scoreless Rattlers lost 0-258.75. The Stampede’s win was powered by 8-second efforts from Ednelio Almeida, Mason Taylor and Kaiden Loud.
Via the win, Nashville advanced to the Shootout Round for the second time in Duluth. Souzaonce again won the special round, besting Dark Thoughts for 87.75 points.
The perfect performance in Georgia led Nashville to rise from No. 7 to No. 3 in the league, closing within two games of the No. 1 Carolina Cowboys.
