WHY LAINEY?: For me I think it was important to bring somebody that could bring the pain out of “Save Me,” and I think Lainey checked that box for me as far as vocally and as far as knowing her struggles and everything she went through to make it in the business
And also I can’t say this enough, I felt like this song touched millions of people, but had the potential to touch and help millions more and I think Lainey being a part of it helps that.
PERFORMING WITH LAINEY ON ACMs: It was insane to perform with Lainey Wilson at the ACMs, who would’ve ever thought I’d be.
One performing on an award show still just unreal to me, but then I get to do it with such a vocalist and somebody who’s just on fire like Lainey Wilson is right now.
