Nashville, Tenn. – (December 31, 2021) – Riser House/Columbia Nashville #1 hitmaker Mitchell Tenpenny enlisted the help of Grammy-nominated performer Danny Gokey to record a new version of his smash hit “Bucket List.” The two powerhouse vocalists, who connected through a mutual friend, spar it out on the refreshed track available today. The song, written by Mitchell, Chris DeStefano and Laura Veltz, was originally released one year ago on New Year’s Day 2021. The “Bucket List” (lyrics here) original version is included Mitchell’s current EP Midtown Diariesthat was released in September. Get the Mitchell/Danny version HERE.
The singers carved out time from their busy schedules this month to shoot a music video for “Bucket List” at the Melrose Church at Fiddlers Grove in Wilson County, Tenn. The film was shot with Director Tristan Cusick.
‘Bucket List’ is about trying to live everyday like it’s your last. You never know how long you have on this earth, so you need to try and live it to the fullest,” shared Mitchell. “I’ve been a big fan of Danny’s for a long time, his voice is so incredible. And even though this song has been out for a while now, I felt he could bring the song to the Christian music community, and I knew no one else could do it better. He’s completely changed this song. I’m honored and grateful he would do this with me.”
“I love the sentiment of the song and love the lyrics,” said Danny. “I hope that people absorb the lyrics and start living life like never before.”
Later today, Mitchell will headline the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest before the 2021 College Football Semifinal game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Mitchell produced the eight-song project with Jordan M Schmidt and co-wrote all the tracks including his current radio single “Truth About You.” Before the song went to country radio, he previewed it for his fans on TikTok, “You listen to the fans who listen to you,” Mitchell said about their instantaneous reaction.
